The meeting was called to order at 7:30. Members present were: Jake Jacobovitch, Kyle Cruver, Jim English, Sally Fox, May Gerstle, Cliff Goodman, Ed Murphy.

Minutes from the April meeting were accepted as presented.

Announcements:

The King County Contract for VMICC funding has been approved pending proof of general liability insurance. Two bids have been secured, and the most competitive will be presented to the Council for approval.

The Vashon Park District has proposed a fee schedule for use of their facilities, which could significantly impact the Community Council, as well as other non profit and community groups. Executive board members and other interested parties are encouraged to provide feedback on this proposed policy.

Agenda Items for VMICC General Meeting May 21, 2001:

Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust presentation.

King County Solid Waste presentation on: 20 year comp plan; transfer station lighting; composting facility and gravel for the landfill cap.

Motion to fund the creation and maintenance of a new web site for the Council.

Motion to authorize the expenditure of $1,800 for insurance.

Motion to fund a forestry seminar.

Motion to purchase 20 copies of Roberts Rules of Order.

New Business:

Motion by Kyle Cruver, seconded by May Gerstle to create the Ad Hoc Youth Advisory Committee. Motion passed.

Motion by Jim English to sponsor a public meeting to present/ discuss the Child Area Sampling survey results. Motion passed.

Motion by Cliff Goodman, seconded by Ed Murphy, to adjourn. Motion passed, meeting adjourned at 9:05 PM.
