Minutes of the VMICC Executive Board Meeting, June 4, 2001
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm. Members present were Jake Jacobovitch, Jim English, Cliff Goodman, Ed Murphy, Kyle Cruver, May Gerstle & Jolene Lamb.
Minutes from the May meeting were accepted.
Announcements:
Willem Maas has submitted his resignation as Chair of the VMICC Transportation Committee and the Transportation Lifeline Committee. He and his wife are moving back East to be closer to their family.
There will be a VMICC Special Meeting hosted by ALRC on June 11, 2001 at 6:30pm at McMurray. There will be a presentation and a question and answer period by Washington State Dept. of Ecology and Dept. of Health as well as Seattle-KC Public Health Dept. regarding arsenic and lead concerns, plans and sampling results on Vashon and Maury Islands.
Members of a citizens group from the Juanita area that are interested in becoming a UAC will attend our June General Meeting.
New Business:
Vashon Allied Arts is setting up a web site ("Community Calendar") that will try to show all Island events. It was decided that the VMICC would participate and to that end the Board unanimously passed the motion, "The VMICC Executive Board authorizes the expenditure of up to $25 to train the VMICC web master on how to post VMICC activities on the "Community Calendar."
VMICC General Meeting Agenda for June Motion to endorse the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust presentation by Steve Abel. KC SWM presentation on this years program and next year’s plans.
