Minutes of the VMICC Executive Board Meeting, December 3, 2001

The meeting was called to order at 7:30. Members present were: Jake Jacobovitch, Kyle Cruver, Jim English, Sally Fox, May Gerstle, Cliff Goodman, Lee Miller, Brian Murphy and Jolene Lamb.

Minutes from the November meeting were not available. The meeting agenda was accepted as presented.

Public Comments: None

Announcements:

1. The King County Comprehensive plan was challenged. As a result, the Growth Management board has directed King County to make certain changes. It isn't known at this time what the changes are, or if they might impact Vashon. Interested individuals are invited to look into the issues, and provide feedback to the county during the public comment period.

New Business:

1. Annual election of officers. Kyle Cruver and Jim English were nominated for President. Kyle was voted to be presented to the general membership for a vote. Ed Murphy, Jim English and May Gerstle were nominated for Vice President. Jim English will be presented to the membership for a vote. Ed Murphy was the sole nominee for Clerk, and will be presented to the membership for a vote. Jolene Lamb was the sole nominee for Treasurer, and will be presented to the membership for a vote. Cliff Goodman was the sole nominee for Secretary, and will be presented to the membership for a vote.

2. The Noxious Weed Board is seeking a board member nomination for Vashon Island. It was agreed to post a public notice for applicants interested in the position.

3. The Executive Board was asked to ratify the chair-elect of the Heavy Metal Remediation Committee. May Gerstle was ratified as the new chair.

4. The agenda for the upcoming general meeting was discussed and accepted as amended.
