The meeting was called to order at 7:30. Members present: Kyle Cruver, Jim English, Sally Fox, Cliff Goodman, Lee Miller, and Jolene Lamb.

Announcements:

The Department of Ecology is hosting two Tacoma Smelter Plume meetings this Tuesday and Wednesday.

King County Sheriff is hosting meetings with the UACÕs to discuss crime issues/concerns on Wednesdays at the King County Courthouse.

The Beachcomber has published the new ad format for the VMICC.

Vashon Ferry Advisory Committee completed work on a PO Boat survey designed to provide information on ferry ridership patterns and surchage collection preferences.

Vashon Fire Department is sponsoring a public meeting 4/9/02, 7PM at the training center to discuss the issue on-island vs off-island dispatch services.

Outreach committee to meet at CafŽ Luna, 9 AM the Saturday before the general meeting.

Board member attendance was discussed, in particular members who are not attending or participating.

New Business:

1. April general meeting to feature a Transportation summit, with Mike Thorne, Dow Constantine and Eric Poulsen confirmed.

2. May general meeting to feature Emergency Preparedness presentations.

3. June general meeting to feature a discussion of vandalism on the island - causes and cures.

4. July general meeting to focus on sustainability/affordable housing.

5. Discussed on-going collaboration efforts with other island groups.
