Vashon - Maury Island Community Council January 2, 2006 Board Meeting Minutes Draft The VMICC meeting was called to order on Monday, January 2,2006 by Secretary Jean Bosch at 7:15pm. in the courtroom of Courthouse Square, Vashon Island. Clerk Mark Meyers, Board Members: Robin Hess, Marilyn Omey, Jolene Lamb and May Gerstle were present, along with visitors and council members. * The VMICC minutes for December 5, 2005 were approved. * The agenda for January 2,2006 VMICC meeting were approved. * Treasurer’s Report , Jolene Lamb states she’s waiting on 2 more invoices before making the year end report. * Floor Announcements: ~ Marilyn Omey will recruit a speaker for the Vashon College. * Routine Business: ~ Discussion of the agenda for the General Meeting on Jan.16,2006. A 30 minute pro & con on the proposed Public Hospital District. Leave time to hear from the Transportation Comm. & Economic Comm. on working w/ the new task force, regarding economic impacts of ferry schedule changes. ~ Robin Hess will hand out the proposed G & P comm. policy changes. * Board Action Items: ~ Discussion on the VMICC Board Retreat coming up Feb.11,2006 @ the Vashon Golf & Country Club, 11:00 - 2:00pm. Ways to recognize the contributions made by hard working committee chairs: ~ Jim will invite all committee chairs; will recognize & honor each guest. ~ Marilyn & May will do an overview and welcome. ~ May will facilitate a discussion on how the Board, the Council & the Community interact & how this could be improved. ~ Marilyn will do a hand out describing how we formalize new committees & give them a clear understanding of their responsibilities. ~ Mark will lead a discussion on how we can best support the committees & when needed recruit new members. ~ Jolene volunteered to produce certificates to give to committee chairs. * Motions: ~ A motion for the approval of $ 200.00 for lunch { $10.00 per person} at the Feb.11,2006 Board Retreat, was made by, Marilyn & seconded by Jolene. Motion Passed * Board Discussion Items: ~ Committee Updates: Dan Schueler placed the order for the video & camera equipment. Expectant delivery date for the order will be on Tues. Jan.3, 2006. ~ Get a confirmation from Tax Comm. Chair, Bill Ameling on dates for his Tax presentation. { Jan. 17 or 18 ? } * Meeting Adjourned 9:18pm.
