 Motion to support traffic law enforcement -- Mark Salkind
 Brief discussion -- Letter approved and sent to VMICC for approval

 Nancy Douglas reported on fund raising possible problems for medical
disaster
 supplies, etc.
 If done under VMICC then board would have to designate use of funds
 She should also investigate possibility of separate 501 c(3) entity

 Police Y2K Plans for Vashon -- Captain Scott Sommers
 911 calls go through Denver -- power dependent -- power companies say they
 are prepared -- backup procedures exist if 911 fails
 All police personnel will be on duty over New Year's eve -- biggest worry
is
 giant millenium parties
 Command center for the island is at the Fire Station
 Radio communication needs coordination -- Police and Fire on different
freq.

 Fire Department Role in Disasters -- Randy Coggan, KCFD#13 Executive

 Showed video on incident command system
 Fire department will be Y2K compliant before end of year
