Transportation Committee normally meets on the Fourth Monday . . and Forestry Committee normally meets on the First Thursday Also, the quarterly ferry advisory committee meetings scheduled for April will probably be delayed until May because of Legislative inaction Election of New Chair Rick Frye was elected new chair, unanimously Update on ongoing activities -- not necessarily in order discussed Nancy Douglas reported the Vashon Island Medical Disaster Preparedness Seminar will be held as scheduled, 5/20-21 -- She handed out a flyer that gave details -- most of the funding is in place. So far, Carol reported, there is no interest in using the Park & Ride opportunities at Vashon Market -- also the Chamber has expressed an interest in restricting street parking Discussion of various safety issues with regard to Morgan Hill -- speeding, shoulder parking, etc. -- Scott Sawhill of KC roads will explore some remedies Wolftown is interested (and will come get) fresh road kill Rick Frye discussed issues and concerns relative to the development of a fire department strategic plan -- are we headed down a new path that will effectively discourage community involvement in the department Jim Didricksen says he (KC roads) will repair giant sink hole on north end boat ramp -- and then see who really is going to pay for it Future Activities Need to re-establish viable contacts with King County police Need to re-examine the value of daytime committee meetings
