Transportation Committee Minutes May 23, 2005
VMICC

The meeting was called to order by Chair Vickie Mercer at 7:00 pm in the McMurray library.  Also present were Gayle Sommers, Ellen Kritzman, Ivan Weiss, and Marilyn Omey, VMICC  liaison.

Vickie discussed results from the Passenger-Only Survey.
Gayle expressed concern about the installation of turnstiles at Fauntleroy taking up seating.  

Ivan had questions about use of  credit/debit cards under the new electronic fare collection system.  These and other questions will be brought up at the SouthSound FAC meeting on June 7th in Southworth.

Vickie discussed progress of the King County Water Borne Transit study currently underway, with Vickie and Joan Sells of the Transit Advisory Committee being participants.  

Vickie asked the committee to approve a resolution to present at the June VMICC general meeting calling for more public outreach from Metro, and also a resolution to support Monorail planning for an extension of the Monorail to Fauntleroy.  Both resolutions were supported by the committee.

Gayle and Ivan expressed interest in joining the Vashon Ferry Advisory Committee (FAC) and were told to contact current Chair Mike Sudduth.
