Current Activities - We are a group of bicycle enthusiasts working to promote bike advocacy, safety and
awareness on the Island. We have bike awareness columns on a regular basis in both Island papers. The most
active part of the group is currently working on programs to help make bicycling a bigger part of kids' lives,
starting in the public schools. This includes bike awareness and safety programs, an upcoming bike to school
initiative, and working with King County Roads to make bicycling to school a safer and more enjoyable experience.
There is also interest in making bike commuting off Island more practical by working with both Washington
State Ferries and Metro on issues such as accessibility and inter-modal connectivity.
