Planning Scenarios
for Vashon Ferries
- Vashon auto ferries
to downtown Seattle and
Southworth ferries to downtown, eliminates service to Fauntleroy.
Vashon to Southworth via shuttle approximately every 50 min. Fares
for Vashon to Seattle could rise an estimated 20% over established
annual increases.
- Fauntleroy to Vashon and Southworth to downtown Seattle auto
ferries. Fauntleroy becomes Vashon only. Southworth to Vashon
service via shuttle approximately every 50 min. No change in Vashon
Fares.
- Car ferry service from Vashon to both Fauntleroy and downtown
Seattle, and from Southworth to Fauntleroy and to downtown.* Southworth
to Vashon service via shuttle approximately every 80 minutes.
Fares for all Vashon passengers could rise an estimated 12% over
established annual increases.
- Existing route structure with Vashon and Southworth to Fauntleroy.
Passenger-only service between Vashon and downtown and Southworth
and downtown. No change in fare structure.
*With the current number
of vessels the trips will be longer, the frequency will be reduced
and there would be more time between sailings.

Ferry System is currently studying the above scenarios.) |
